Death’s-head Hawkmoth. One of Britain’s most spectacular moths, the Death’s-head Hawkmoth gets its wonderfully dramatic name from the skull-like marking on its back. These huge, beautiful moths are strong fliers and famous for their habit of raiding beehives for honey. They can even mimic the scent of honeybees to help them sneak in unnoticed.

A note about handmade prints:

Each print is individually hand-printed, so no two prints will ever be completely identical. Small variations in ink coverage, pressure, texture and registration are a natural part of the linocut process, and you may notice tiny areas of ink, subtle marks or other little differences from one print to another. These are not flaws, but part of what makes each hand-pulled print unique.

The paper I use is also a beautiful handmade, fibrous cotton-rag paper, so you may see natural speckles, flecks and strands of different colours within the paper. These can sometimes be visible around the edges or through areas of the print. Each sheet has its own character, meaning every print is genuinely one of a kind.

By purchasing a handmade linocut print, you are embracing these natural variations and the individuality they bring to each piece.
